Isis Parenting Forms Strategic Alliance with Pumping Essentials, Expanding Its Support for Breastfeeding Moms

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Isis Parenting, a trusted prenatal and early parenting resource, announces a new partnership with Pumping Essentials, an organization that provides breast pumping necessities to new moms. As part of the alliance and to kick-off World Breastfeeding Week, August 1 through August 7, Pumping Essentials will begin offering Pump Talk, an online Isis Parenting educational component that helps breastfeeding moms learn about the nuances of expressing, storing and feeding their milk.

The new provision to the Affordable Care Act, made actionable in August 2012, offers women access to a full range of services, including breastfeeding support and supplies, through their insurance providers without co-pays or deductibles. Pumping Essentials is leveraging this legislation and is dedicated to helping moms achieve their breastfeeding goals without added cost.

The Pumping Essentials Breast Pump Bundle will offer the following products to new moms through their existing healthcare plan:

High-quality breast pump (Medela, Ameda) Simple Wishes hands-free pumping bra Pump Talk, an online Isis Parenting course that helps moms learn about expressing, storing and feeding breastmilk, building a strong milk supply, overcoming challenges and navigating the return to school or work as a working and nursing mother

Isis Parenting is currently the only resource that supports breastfeeding moms through all stages, from hospital and birthing stay, to adjusting to life at home with a newborn, to helping her transition back to work, said Heather Coughlin, Chief Executive Officer, Isis Parenting. Its often a hurdle for moms to continue breastfeeding when returning to work but a hurdle that can be overcome with the right tools and support. We are thrilled to add an educational component to the great products that Pumping Essentials provides breastfeeding moms to help more women continue to nurse their babies longer and provide their milk when they are apart.

As moms ourselves, we are passionate about providing mothers with everything they need for a positive breast pumping experience, said Pumping Essentials co-founder Joy Kosak. The Affordable Care Act legislation provides an opportunity to help moms access the products and support needed for a successful and long-term breast pumping experience. Isis Parentings Pump Talk is a great enhancement to our offering.

World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7) is a perfect context to showcase the benefits of breastfeeding and the ways in which women can integrate naturally feeding their children into their lifestyle. Recently published evidence-based studies have confirmed and quantified the risks of not breastfeeding and stated that infant feeding should not be considered as a lifestyle choice but rather as a basic health issue.*

Isis Parentings Pump Talk is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $29.00. New moms can learn how to access Pump Talk by visiting To learn more about Pumping Essentials, visit
